Keep Lake Huron clean, take part in Lake Huron beach cleanups

One way you can help to keep this Great Lake great is to take part in beach cleanups.

Lake Huron Coastal Centre, working with community sponsors and partners and volunteers, is holding shoreline cleanups, along Lake Huron's southeast shore, in July and August.

Locations and dates include:

  • Kincardine – Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. noon
  • Kettle Point in Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation – Friday, August 1, 2025 at 12 p.m. noon
  • Bayfield – Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Grand Bend – Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

To register for these beach cleanups, or to learn more, visit the Lake Huron Coastal Centre beach cleanup web page.

The Coastal Centre has a goal this year to engage 600 volunteers in the diversion of more than 1,500 pounds of plastic away from Lake Huron.

Volunteers are asked to bring their own drinking water (in reusable containers) and closed-toed shoes. They are also encouraged to bring gloves and a bucket. The Coastal Centre asks volunteers to register before the event.

Thanks for helping to protect beach and water quality in Lake Huron.
